Chef Dewey

Hospitality Services Executive Chef Dewey McMurrey recently received the 2011 Chef of the Year from the ACF (American Culinary Federation) Texas Panhandle Chefs de Cuisine. Chef McMurrey was nominated by other area Chefs for this award and will continue on to compete regionally for Chef of the Year.

Chef Dewey McMurrey graduated in the top ten percent of his class at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. During this time, he interned at the Dallas Country Club under Certified Master Executive Chef, Ernst Gruch. Chef McMurrey arrived at Texas Tech in 2005 and has won numerous medals in various culinary competitions.
